Logos special issue on publishing in Africa
Small Is Beautiful: Africa’s independent book publishers
What does the future hold for Africa’s independent publishing sector? This Logos special issue brings together book publishers from across the continent and beyond to talk about their publishing passions. Through interviews with more than a dozen African publishers – many of whom are women – we hear about the challenges of running a dynamic publishing business on a shoestring. The special issue explores generational changes in publishing practices, asks if small is always beautiful, and offers a vision of hope for the future.
Angus Phillips is Editor-in-Chief of Logos and this special issue welcomes as guest editors Stephanie Kitchen, David Mills and Anshita Ail. Anshita is an alumna of the publishing programme at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing.
