Fiona's career spanned a stint as a freelance news reporter on the Times and Mail on Sunday, Daily Mirror opinion columnist and staff feature writer on the Sun. She also worked as a reporter and interviewer across the US and Europe and as a news bureau correspondent in New York.

Her freelance features have appeared in the Sunday Times, Daily Mail, YOU magazine, Guardian, Independent, Daily Telegraph and the Express, and she was Editor of two magazines. 

As a Producer/Director, Fiona produced hundreds of hours of live television for networked current affairs shows and presented a live news show for ITV.

Fiona is a national newsbrand, magazine and broadcast journalist who lectures on BA and MA journalism modules, and oversees elements of OICP's NCTJ accreditation delivery. This aligns with her current role as a Moderator, Masterclass leader and Apprenticeship Examiner for the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and trainer on national newsbrand graduate schemes. Previously, she ran the Press Association's fast track Diploma courses.
