Consultancy
The main areas of my consultancy work are to:
- analyse the availability of raw materials; pre-press, printing, and finishing facilities;
- identify areas where shortcomings in the above are likely to have adverse effects on the provision of the finished product;
- suggest strategies on editing, design, choice of raw materials, and methods of printing and binding, which will lead to significant improvements in appearance, durability, and presentation of the finished product, without significant increase in costs;
- analyse current costs of producing the finished product; and to produce forecasts of the likely effect on costs of adopting certain editorial, publishing, and production strategies
- analyse the human, financial, and technical skills available to produce the finished product;
- identify areas where training and technical upgrading are needed; and to suggest strategies whereby these needs can be achieved;
- design, organize, and co-ordinate courses, and to provide practical training in publishing skills, particularly editorial, financial management, production and project management, and design.
- provide training in the creation and implementation of international bidding procedures and documentation
- provide training in the establishment and running of quality assurance and quality control systems to control and monitor the procurement and production of school textbooks and teaching materials
