Alumni - Eleonora Cavalli, MA Publishing Media

Eleonora Cavalli is Social Media Manager at Peculiar Press.

I am working together with its founder Aleida Gomez de Caso, and Ilaria Doro, both OICP alumni that attended the MA in Publishing Media. We participated in the FUEL Awards during the lockdown in 2020 and were among the winners. FUEL Awards is an 8-week business scale up programme, powered by Santander Universities, designed to help students grow their business and make their ideas happen.

We also reached out to students from the undergraduate course and worked together with Paula van Eenennaam, who recently graduated and was our intern for several months. ...

Peculiar Press publishes children books with parallel text in Spanish and English for bilingual and curious kids in need of entertaining literature. Our books focus on inclusivity and are aimed at both bilingual children and at those who want books that do not focus only on the educational aspect of language learning, but also on sparking an interest for compelling stories. Our aim is also to give visibility to emerging young authors and illustrators from all over Europe.

Our new book, The Greatest Treasure (El Mayor Tesoro), published on 1 October 2020, is a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, reimagined in a more inclusive way.

This project would not have been the same without what we learned during the MA and for that I would like to thank all the teachers who supported us.
