Working in Publishing Day

The 2007 Working in Publishing Day was an even greater success than last year’s. The biggest turn-out ever of publishers and alumni gathered at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies’ new home in the Buckley Building on Thursday, 8 March. After a morning in which alumni and recruitment specialists shared their ‘top tips’ on how to get jobs in the industry, well over 40 representatives from more than 25 different companies networked with MA and undergraduate students in the afternoon ‘speed-dating’ sessions. There was a real buzz in the air as publishers and students got to know each other, swapped business cards for c.v.s and made the contacts so central to the industry.
