The book and its future

Angus Phillips, Director of the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies, was interviewed for an article in the Times Higher Education Supplement about the book and its future (29 September). Together with Bill Cope, he has edited a collection of papers, The Future of the Book in the Digital Age, published this month by Chandos.

What place does the book have alongside a rich media environment of TV, radio, the Internet, computer games and the mobile phone? What developments are helping to sustain or disrupt the book’s place in our world? The authors provide an international perspective on the issues that affect publishing, bookselling, authorship, readership and librarianship.
