Publishing Training in Russia
Adrian Bullock has just returned from 11 days in Russia working for the British Council's Tempus-Tacis Project: Building Training Infrastructures for the Russian Book Industry. Adrian's brief was to design and facilitate a series of workshops in Samara, Yekaterinburg, and St Petersburg, whose purpose was to introduce participants to a teaching methodology suitable for adults undergoing professional training. This involved: * describing the theory and practice underlying facilitating learner-based training aimed specifically at adults, and how these differ from teaching methods used in school and higher education * working with participants to prepare teaching materials that will facilitate adult learning The workshops were delivered to some 35 participants, who will now start to provide training sessions of their own (based on materials developed by Paul Richardson, former Head of Publishing, and others) to people working in the industry - booksellers as well as publishers, as part of the Project's overall objective of developing the skills and knowledge of the Russian Book Industry.Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on 28 Oct 2004 around 8am
