Pearson Education Digital Publishing Strategy Prize winners

MA students pitched their ideas for new digital products for the education market, complete with working prototypes, in the final week of the Digital Publishing Strategy module.  Judges from Pearson Education, Sze-Kie Ho and Alistair Nunn, commended all the students on their innovative ideas, impressive team presentations and detailed thought processes.

The first prize of £400 was awarded to Giorgia De Micheli,  Prae Laksangwilai, Flavia Marcocci, and Anna Ramsten for Exam Jar, an online platform for Mathematics students and teachers. The team delivered a persuasive pitch showing how a teacher might set official questions for GCSE maths pupils, how this might be personalized,  and using new technology, how faster marking and feedback could be achieved.

Second prize of £200 went to India Humphreys, Katie Jarvis and Line Tøresby for ChemLab, a website dedicated to provide an interactive learning environment for Chemistry practical work.  The team were commended for understanding in detail the needs of schools and pupils. They demonstrated how a pupil could learn to use laboratory equipment and to carry out simple to sophisticated chemical experiments online.
