OPUS Annual Party

The Oxford Publishing Society (OPUS) held its annual party in January at Linnells' new offices in Botley. The Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies is a member of OPUS and many of our staff and students chose to attend this important networking event. The theme this year was Africa, and African drummers and African food featured. Mary Jay from the African Book Collective spoke about current issues facing publishing in Africa and as last year four of our international students Jan Kasprzycki-Rosikon, Hilarie Busing, Wai Sum Cheung and Ronke Soile spoke very entertainingly about their particular experiences of studying at Brookes. The evening was also an opportunity for Kelvin Smith from OICPS to introduce an initiative to establish a scholarship for a South African student in memory of Phaswane Mpe.
