ePublishing Prizes
Harcourt Education, an international publishing group with local offices in Oxford, have been involved with the MA epublishing module for the fifth year running. As part of the course students developed prototype websites based on Harcourt’s Heinemann secondary school books. Representatives from Harcourt were in attendance at the presentations of these new epublishing products to choose first and second prize winners.Ian Cavey and Liz Marchant from Harcourt Education reported that they were really impressed with the standard of work. They said it was obvious that a great deal of thought had gone into the projects.
The first prize of £350 went to a group of four students Alexander Bud, Jennifer Campbell, Abigail Carver and Jing Wang who produced a web site to accompany the Heinemann Art Matters book. This took the prize on the basis of its overall feature set and potential for genuine commercial viability.
Second prize of £150 went to Helen Duriez, Ivonne Koch, Cynthia Rosset, and Nana Woode for their interactive website based on the Heinemann Maths Connect book. This was praised for the clear route through the content, and for many of their ideas such as the online tools.
