British Book Design and Production Awards 2007

Over three hundred publishers, printers and their guests attended the British Book Design and Production Awards Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, hosted by the British Printing Industries Federation, Oxford Brookes University, and the Publishers Association on 13 November 2007 at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel. The guest speaker was Sandy Toksvig.

Now in their sixth year the Awards attracted nearly 300 entries across a wide range of categories from digital printing to limited editions and fine binding.

The Book of the Year Award went to Balenciaga Paris published by Thames & Hudson. Other winners were HarperCollins, Cambrian Printers, The Fleece Press, Laurence King Publishers, Palgrave Macmillan, Speechmark, Harcourt, AVA Publishing, Hodder Arnold, Walker Books, and Fourth Estate.

Adrian Bullock, from the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies, presented the award in the secondary education category, sponsored by Oxford Brookes University, to Harcourt’s Ron Kamen and Kate Kunac-Tabinor for their A History of American Music.
