London Book Fair Winner!
The winner of the draw for a Nintendo Wii at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies stand at the London Book Fair was Angela Wilde, Publisher at Blue Ocean Publishing. Angela was delighted with the news, and said "The name Oxford Brookes is very well-known and so was a good draw for me to come by your stand, have a browse and see what kind of services Brookes offers. Of course, winning the Wii was an unexpected bonus"
Thanks to everyone who entered!

Publishing at the London Book Fair 2009
The Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies (OICPS) had a stand at the London Book Fair 20-22 April 2009. It was an excellent opportunity to meet many of our alumni who were working with their own companies at the fair, as well as many of our publishing contacts in the UK and international industries. Current students were greatly in evidence, wearing OICPS T-shirts and helping to run the Fair's seminar programme. Several students also helped out at the stand for the Independent Publishers Guild. We were busy throughout the Fair and, for example, hosted three well-attended seminars and hosted a party for our alumni.

Publishing students visit Bloomsbury
Students from the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies recently visited Bloomsbury plc at the invitation of Industry Advisory Board member and Deputy Managing Director of A & C Black, Jonathan Glasspool.
Becky Cook, a student on the MA in Publishing, reports on the day:
'To say that Bloomsbury is a well know publishing house is an understatement. For years they have been successful in trade fiction and non-fiction and have produced some of the best selling books in recent years. With the success of the Harry Potter series, Bloomsbury has become almost legendary, so when the trip to their offices in Soho Square was announced I jumped at the chance to visit.
