Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff is an award-winning writer and editor, specialising in project-based work across disciplines including journalism, literature and the screen. In 2025 she won the Tenacious Journalist Award after completing a fellowship at The University of Oxford and the Reuters Institute for the study of journalism, investigating how the media reports on missing people. Charlie is a former senior staff editor at the New York Times and the former Editor-in-Chief of the groundbreaking gal-dem magazine. She has published non-fiction books including Black Joy (Penguin, 2021) and Mother Country (Hachette, 2018).
