Journalist, editor, features writer, columnist and creative with focuses on race, lifestyle, travel, media, youth culture and social politics, Charlie is a Senior Staff Editor @nytimes.

Charlie is also the Co-Editor of Black Joy (Penguin) and Editor of the book Mother Country: Real Stories of the Windrush Children (Hachette), a leading new exploration of the Windrush generation featuring David Lammy, Lenny Henry, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sharmaine Lovegrove, Hannah Lowe, Jamz Supernova, Natasha Gordon and Rikki Beadle-Blair.

Formerly the head of editorial at gal-dem, a writer and former editor at Dazed and a Guardian freelancer. Charlie has written columns for the Observer, ipaper and Metro and freelance for a variety of publications, including Easyjet Magazine and the Financial Times. Experienced panellist and speaker on radio and TV. Commercial clients include Exposure, Nike and Channel 4.
