Jeremy Trevathan

Pan Macmillan

Jeremy Trevathan is currently Managing Director at Macmillan Adult Division at Pan Macmillan, one of the UK’s oldest and largest general book publishers.

After achieving his Postgraduate Diploma in Publishing in 1980 from what is now Oxford Brookes University, he worked in a variety of roles in the academic and trade sectors across production, subsidiary rights, editorial and senior management teams at companies such as Blackwell’s Scientific Publications, Oxford University Press, Penguin Books, Time-Life Books and Reader’s Digest.

As Publishing Director and then Publisher, he has edited and published fiction and nonfiction authors such as Felipe Fernández-Armesto, Shirley Conran, Roy Jenkins, Ann Cleeves, Max Hastings, Ken Follett, Jeffrey Archer, Elizabeth Jane Howard, James Herbert, Elton John, Wilbur Smith and Lucinda Riley.

In 2012, Jeremy joined the leadership team of Pan Macmillan and moved to a more strategic role as Publisher of the Macmillan Adult Division, overseeing the publishing and commercial progress of some of the UK’s most recognisable imprints including Macmillan, Pan, Picador, Tor, Mantle and Bluebird. He was subsequently promoted to Managing Director of the division in 2021.
