India Trade Mission Meeting

Oxford Brookes University and UK Trade and Investment are planning to take a group of local publishers on a trade mission to India and are organising a meeting on Monday 30 October for anyone interested in taking part in the mission.
From 11.30 until 1 pm (a working lunch will be served)
The Oxford Centre for Publishing Consultancy and Research, at Oxford Brookes University, will be using its extensive expertise to help small and medium sized publishers do business with publishers, distributors and suppliers in India.
The publishing market in India is valued at over £1bn and in volume terms it is the third largest in the world. Strong sectors include education and trade publishing, and 40 per cent of titles are published in English, providing an attractive market opportunity for UK publishers. The mission will visit Delhi and Chennai, and includes meetings with key representatives of the Indian publishing industry. There will be space in the itinerary for individual meetings, alongside group activities. Briefings before the trip will provide information about the Indian market, and relevant cultural information.
The dates for the mission are 13th January to 20th January 2007.
The fee is £1549.00, which will cover all flights and accommodation plus specialist support. Successful applicants will be eligible for a travel support grant of £550.00 provided by UK Trade and Investment, making the actual cost to the company £999.00.
Because of funding requirements, priority will be given to companies from the South-East region: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and East and West Sussex. It may be possible for others to join if places are still available.
The Oxford Centre for Publishing Consultancy and Research delivers consultancy, research and professional development to the publishing industry worldwide. This mission follows on from the successful trade mission to China in 2005.
