Fine Art and Foundation Art and Design Open Afternoon

Taking Place: Richard Hamilton Building, Oxford Brookes University

The Fine Art and Foundation Art & Design courses at Oxford Brookes University will be holding a subject open afternoon on 25 November 2009. The event will be based in the Richard Hamilton Building, on the Headington Hill campus, which is home to the Arts department. You are invited to see the department in action, visit studio spaces, meet current students and find out about our courses and admissions procedures. Subject sessions for each course will give you an overview of the course, and you will have the opportunity to ask more specific questions at the central marketplace, open from 12-3. The marketplace will also have information about accommodation at the university, and finance issues.

Traffic and travel

The department is on the Headington Hill campus, just across the road from the main university campus at Gipsy Lane. There is no parking on campus (unless you require a disabled parking space, in which case arrangements can be made). Please use the park-and-ride services if you are driving to Oxford. Buses run regularly from the park-and-ride sites as well as the central railway station, and stop just outside the campus. Further information on how to reach us can be found on the central Oxford Brookes University website.

Booking

It is important that you book for any subject sessions you wish to attend the form on this web page.

Tours of the department will be run by current students between 12 and 3. No booking is required.

Tours of the campus can be booked through the central Enquiry Centre on 01865 484848. Please mention that you are attending the Art Open Day as special tours will depart from Richard Hamilton Building, rather than Gipsy Lane reception.

Catering

A variety of catering outlets can be found at the main Gipsy Lane site (5 minutes’ walk from the Arts building) and the Students’ Union on the Headington Hill campus. The upper foyer in Richard Hamilton Building will be open if you wish to bring sandwiches.
