Emma Bourne is the Managing Director of the Schools Division, Macmillan Education. She has worked in a variety of roles in the international educational publishing sector for Heinemann, Nelson Thornes  (as International Director and Board member) and Oxford University Press as (International Development Director, ELT) before joining Macmillan in December 2013. Prior to that she worked for a company specialising in supply to the International Schools market.  She is the current chair of the International Board at the Publisher’s Association.

Macmillan Education’s Schools business publishes primary and secondary titles for local curricula in selective markets across parts of the English speaking world.  Emma, while UK based, travels extensively to the Macmillan schools network around the world.

Emma is a graduate of the undergraduate Publishing programme at Oxford Brookes. She will be talking about her experience in developing her career in publishing. Refreshments will be provided.
