Brookes alumnus shortlisted for Young Journalist of the Year award

OICP alumnus Thomas Godfrey has been nominated for the prestigious Young Journalist of the Year award 2025, sponsored by The Journalists’ Charity. An interview with Thomas by a current student about this nomination can be found here.

Thomas graduated from OICP's BA in Media, Journalism and Publishing with First Class Honours in 2023. While a student at Brookes, he was on the founding team of our student publication, HybridMag and was the recipient of the NCTJ Data Journalism award. He now works as a News Reporter at The Sun, where he has reported from the Russian border, Austria and Sweden, and worked in The Sun's award-winning politics team during the 2024 General Election.
